Bailey, Henry Ives. The Liturgy Compared with the Bible V1: Or an Illustration and Confirmation, by Scripture Quotations and References (1835). (This is what its title suggests it is – extensive Scripture quotations are provided for each portion (indeed, each phrase) of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer).

Crouse, Robert D. The Form of Sound Words (2 Tim 1.13) – The Catholicity of the Prayer Book. (An excellent and thought provoking article by a defender of the Book of Common Prayer).

Seabury Press: NY, 1981. (Holmes was one of the architects of the Episcopal Church’s 1979 book. In this article he discusses their desire to introduce new doctrine into the church and to do so by means of changing the liturgy. This is a revealing article, but a little “heavy.”)
